Alesya's photo projects
Svema (2021-2022)
I took these photos on expired film and had no idea what would happen as a result. These photos seem to me to have a peace between my two psychological states - the loss of a loved one and the war in my country.
The Therapy (2020-2022)
Our brain, protecting us, sometimes blocks traumatic memories. I still don't remember some events from my childhood, but there are some that you want to forget.
These photos are scraps of my memory. This is what I saw when I was scared and achingly: the park, the road home, the view from the balcony, looking from which I begged God that my father would come home safe and not drunk. But no one heard me and I no longer spoke to God.
Drawing my pain, I let it pass through me anew.
What did this therapy do for me?
The pain didn't go away, but only a shadow remained.
